We have upgraded our products instead of the cheaper zinc plating process, to produce a product that is aesthetically pleasing, and provides a durable uniform finish. Off Road Downunder’s powder coating process as listed below;
Off Road Downunder – Powder Coating Processes:
All products begin with the process of being sandblasted to clean & prepare sheet metal to ensure adequate adhesion for the Zinc Rich Epoxy Primer. Once primer is added it is top coated in the durable Graphite Ripple powder coat.
PPG Envirocron® Powder Coatings
ZINC RICH EPOXY PRIMER ENVIROZINC
Envirozinc is a smooth satin coating with a high level of zinc, providing excellent corrosion protection while improving the adhesion properties of powder topcoats resulting in superior service life and film integrity.
- Cathodic corrosion protection
- Increased hardness
- Improved abrasion resistance
- Excellent chemical resistance: to acids, alkalis , oil and most solvents.
Salt Spray (ASTM-B117): Pass @ 2000 hours, <3mm from scribe.
Cyclic Humidity BS3900-F7: Pass no blistering or loss of gloss after 1000 hours.
- Temperature Stability: Excellent for continuous exposure up to 120 deg C
TOP COATING: TGIC-Free POLYESTER SYSTEM
The Polyester TGIC Free formulation is cured with an advanced TGIC Free curative that offers a coating with the following unique properties. These properties include:
- High flow polyester suited for industrial OEM equipment.
- Excellent powder transfer and spray characteristics.
- Excellent mechanical properties
- Exterior durability
- Uses ECT (Economical Coating Technology)
- Suitable for Automotive under-hood and alloy wheels

Cyclic humidity ASTM D2247-94 Pass. No blistering after 1000 hours
Very good resistance to acids , alkalis , oil and most solvents.
